Royal Malewane is situated in a private game reserve adjacent to the Kruger National Park and is approximately 50km (30miles) from Hoedspruit. The different options our guests have to travel to Royal Malewane are as follows.

Travel by Air

From Johannesburg International Airport :

Option 1
SA Express Airways fly daily to Hoedspruit Airport. Bookings can be made directly with South African Airways who can be contacted by telephone on +27 (11) 978 1111 or via their website at www.flysaa.com . Road transfers to and from Hoedspruit Airport can be arranged by Royal Malewane. The duration of the road transfer is approximately 35 minutes in a comfortable air conditioned vehicle.

Option 2
Nelair Charters fly daily scheduled charters to and from JIA directly into Royal Malewane and land directly on our private airstrip. Upon arrival, your guide will transfer you through the Reserve to the lodge. This is a 15 minute transfer. Bookings can be made with reservations and please contact them for further details. Please note that luggage is restricted to 20kg of soft luggage per person.

From Cape Town International Airport:

SA Airlink fly daily from Cape town to KMIA (Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport) in Nelspruit. Bookings can be made directly with South African Airways who can be contacted by telephone on +27 (11) 978 1111 or via their website at www.flysaa.com. Upon request we can arrange an air transfer with Nelair charters from KMIA to Royal Malewane. The duration of the air transfer is 25 minutes by light aircraft and is not a private transfer. Please note that luggage is restricted to 20kg of soft luggage per person.

Private Charter Flights:

Guests have the option of chartering their own flights directly onto our private airstrip. Reservations can assist with booking private charters.

Travel by Road

Guests have the option of travelling to Royal Malewane by road. Advantages of this include experiencing the small and scenic towns surrounding Royal Malewane, set against a backdrop of the spectacular Drakensberg mountains. Detailed directions to Royal Malewane will be provided by the lodge.
